What's in an A-1 Home Inspection?

A Home's Major Systems

The Interior: Circulates Heat, Air and Water

After an A-1 inspector has reviewed a home's outside, it's time for an interior examination. We will take note of how the home's structure appears from the inside. Are ceilings bowed? Are floors springy, or solid? In the basement, are support posts loose or showing signs of rot or insect infestation? A-1inspectors will also note if the stairs have loose handrails or steps, and whether there are signs of cracked or repaired plaster in ceilings and walls. If a basement or portion of the home is unfinished, he will review its structure, habitability, and look for health and safety issues.

A review of the home's interior also includes a review of heating and air conditioning systems, how air is distributed throughout the property, whether windows function or not for air flow, insulation, and electrical components - noting whether electrical outlets are properly functioning, whether there are signs of leakage beneath sinks or the refrigerator, and other matters. In bathrooms, A-1 inspectors will examine whether tiles are loose and whether the toilet coming loose from its base, a sign that it may need to be removed and reattached with a new seal and that water leakage may have occurred. We will also review whether windows and doors fit their frames and open and close correctly.
